Design & Illustration

The Archaeological Practice provides professional in-house illustration work for all of our projects and in association with independent authors writing within the heritage sector. Whether it’s digitizing technical plans of archaeological remains or historic buildings for a report, or for illustrating interpretive maps and artistic reconstructions for publication – in books, journals, designing websites and other interactive media, we can illustrate it!

Our computing officer of over 10 years, Marc Johnstone, was formerly principal web designer at Newcastle University for the Northumberland Rock Art project, winning the prestigious British Archaeological Award in 2006. More recent work includes illustrating David Jones’ best-selling book and website on archaeology of the Cheviot Hills, and the critically acclaimed ‘North Pennines Virtual Museum’.

If you’re looking to commission illustration work, then please get in touch and we can discuss options.
